The Doyles Art Award is an annual Australian representational fine art award and exhibition. Over 400 artworks are on display for the duration of the exhibition. All adult artwork and some junior artwork is for sale. Categories include Landscape, Still Life, Figurative, All Ability and Juniors. The main category is Landscape in honour of our namesake, d'Arcy Doyle.

Robina Art Gallery | May 01 - May 13 2024

Firebird Studios and friends showcased their pottery and art at the Robina Art Gallery titled Colours of the Gold Coast. The exhibition featured work from teachers and students that was on display for a couple of weeks.

Robina Art Gallery | April 02 - April 15 2024

8x8 to Educate was an art exhibition with a difference. It's an art award created by Katura Halleday to raise funds to provide education to girls unable to access schools in Mozambique and Tanzania.

 

Artists and creatives of all ages and skill levels enter the award by donating an 8×8″ sized artwork, which is then for sale for $30 during the exhibition. 100% of the profits go to supporting the 8x8 scholarship program.

Japan and Friends Day

Once a year The Japanese Society of Gold Coast organises a cultural event together with the Consulate General of Japan for the community of the Gold Coast.

 

Here are some of the scenes and sounds of the 2023 celebration held at Robina State High School.

A Place for Everyone. VLCRC envisions a united community, empowering diversity through accessible resources and collaborative initiatives. We foster well-being, equality, and a vibrant Varsity Lakes tapestry. The Centre is administered by the Varsity Lakes Community Resource Centre Volunteer Management Committee. We are funded by The Queensland Department of Treaty, Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Partnerships, Communities and the Arts ​At the Annual General Meeting, financial members elect the Management Committee, whose responsibility it is to oversee management of the community centre.

The Australian German Club has been established on the Gold Coast for over 48 years and welcomes everyone. The club is open Thursday to Saturday Night, and Sunday lunch.
